All is not well at the Vatican

Hopefully over the last few posts (here, here, here and here), you’ve begun to detect a bit of a theme. We’ve been looking at what people of the past were predicting about the Catholic Church of the future.

Now let’s look at that Church which was their future, and our present day. What do we see?

On 11th February 2013 an event happened which sent shock-waves throughout the worldwide Catholic Church. Completely out of the blue, Pope Benedict XVI announced that he was resigning the papacy. There had been no Papal resignation for over 600 years.

At the following Conclave, Jorge Mario Bergoglio emerged as Pope following a speech that “sounded like a breath of fresh air”. After he had accepted the nomination, he remarked to his fellow cardinals, “May God forgive you for what you have just done.” It was taken as a joke at the time. How do things look now?

For a complete (up to 2020) record of all of “Pope Francis’s” misdemeanours, have a look at http://thewildvoice.org/pope-francis-chronology-perspective/. It’s quite a list. But if that’s too much to take in, here is my “cut out and keep” guide to the current ten most objectionable things that have happened since Bergoglio became pope. Note, current. A lot has already happened in the nine years since Bergoglio assumed command of the Catholic Church and I certainly don’t think we’ve seen the last – or the worst – entry in the list yet.

  1. In October 2019, during the Amazon Synod, a number of “Pachamamas” (pagan fertility Goddess images) were worshipped in a ceremony in the Vatican Gardens attended by “Pope Francis”. The same idols were later placed on the altars of Catholic Churches in and around the Vatican. We have to assume that “Pope Francis” approved of this direct violation of the First Commandment (“I am the Lord your God. You shall have no strange idols before me.”) Just recently there was the participation in a pagan “smudging” ceremony in Canada.
  2. In 2019 “Francis” met with Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayyib for the joint signing of a declaration entitled “A Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”. In this document are the words (my emphasis): “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, colour, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings.” This goes against both perennial Church teaching and the words of Jesus Himself in the Gospel of Matthew (Mt 28:18-20). It is however perfectly natural language for a Freemason to use: “religious indifferentism”, the idea that all religions are equally valid routes to God, is a cornerstone of Freemasonry. And paves the way for a One-World Church.
  3. In 2018 “Francis” concluded a secret deal with the Chinese Government which has led directly to much greater persecution of the underground Catholic Church operating there. Why is the deal secret? The last secret deal between nations that I’m aware of was the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact that divided Poland between the USSR and Nazi Germany in 1939. The Vatican/China deal was arranged by now-disgraced Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, a man whose sexual depravities “Francis” was warned about, but chose to ignore. That’s a whole separate set of blog posts right there …
  4. In 2016 “Francis” produced the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia. In Chapter 8 of this document there is a footnote that appears to open the door to divorced and civilly-remarried people being able to receive Holy Communion. This contravenes centuries of consistent Catholic teaching that such is impossible. Four Cardinals publicly issued a set of Dubia (Latin for “doubts”), questions for “Francis” to answer, but no response has ever been forthcoming.
  5. “Francis” is not one for definitive, authoritative statements. Most of the time he allows his opinions to slip out through the mouths of others, particularly atheists who can’t keep the note of triumphalism out of their speech as they demolish one cornerstone of the Catholic Faith after another. Among these interviews have been many – apparently nearly every year of “Francis’s” “pontificate” – to atheist journalist Eugenio Scalfari (recently deceased). Naturally none of their conversations was ever recorded. We only have Scalfari’s word for it.
  6. “Francis” has denied the existence of hell in interviews with Scalfari in 2015 and again in 2018. Such statements obviously go against the eternal teaching of the Catholic Church, but also against what heaven has been telling us in the recent past.
  7. In off-the-cuff and informal remarks in 2013 and 2020, “Francis” has been interpreted as supporting the LGBT agenda, including civil partnerships and gay adoption of children. Official Vatican statements are keen to point out that he is quoted out of context or some such excuse, but what matters is that laypeople are left with the view that he supports LGBT.
  8. In 2021 “Francis” began to impose restrictions on the celebration of the Latin Mass, the ancient form of worship beloved by many traditionalists in the Catholic Church. To police this, he has instigated a culture of “snitching”, encouraging the laity to betray any priest found to be celebrating the Mass in Latin without permission from his bishop. How can that be furthering the interests of the worldwide Catholic Church?
  9. Under “Francis” a whole host of shady characters has been welcomed at the Vatican: population control activists, abortion devotees, transgender and LGBT advocates. This sends a very different message to the world from his predecessors in the Chair of Peter.
  10. The overriding hallmark of the “Francis” “papacy” is confusion. On the one hand, “Francis” makes statements that appeal to traditional Catholics, visits Our Lady’s shrines around the world, makes “nice” statements that please the faithful. At the same time, he is making scandalous off-the-cuff remarks to others which are then reported and never denied. This confusion has grown to the point where those who know his antics well are horrified whenever he makes a “traditional” gesture because it is always the preamble to some devastating new statement or action that undermines the eternal teaching of the Church. Confusion is, itself, diabolical in origin.

We now know that Benedict XVI’s resignation was not “out of the blue”. There was a definite plot to remove him from within the Catholic Church by a group now known as the St Gallen’s Mafia. We also now know that the same plotters conspired to elect Bergoglio at the Conclave that elected Benedict. Conspiring in Conclaves had been expressly forbidden by Pope John Paul II in his 1996 Apostolic Constitution Universi Dominici Gregis (n. 83).

There have been bad – even notorious – popes before in history, but this is the first one who tried to change the eternal teaching of the Church. It would be draw-dropping to imagine any of “Francis’s” immediate predecessors doing any of the things recorded above. But it’s a hallmark of this “pontificate” that we have come to accept this behaviour as normal now.

So much for the actions of “Francis” to date. Next time we will assess things from a different perspective…
